Call for speech proposals

The Organizing Committee of FOSSCOMM 2025 (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is calling for proposals for talks and workshops for the annual pan-Hellenic conference of free and open source software communities. The conference will be held on October 11 and 12, 2025 in Karlovassi, Samos, at the University of the Aegean.

FOSSCOMM is a meeting point for developers, students, academics and anyone interested, regardless of background, promoting knowledge exchange and innovation in the field of open source software. Participation in the conference is, as always, free and open to all.

Interested parties are invited to submit their proposals in a wide range of thematic areas, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Community networks
  • DevOps
  • Open Art
  • Open Data
  • Open Hardware
  • Programming Languages
  • Science
  • Social / Policies / Legal
  • Space
  • System Software
  • Security
  • Web / Mobile technologies
  • Metaverse / Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality / Mixed Reality

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Speech proposals must be submitted electronically by September 20, 2025, 10:57 (Europe/Athens). Each proposal should include the following elements:

  • Title
  • Speech Archive
  • Speech Summary (ideally around 300 words)
  • Speech Duration (not to exceed 30 minutes, including 5 minutes for questions from the audience)
  • Speech Type (related topics)
  • Speaker's name
  • Contact Information (email)

The official language of the conference is Greek, however proposals in English are also accepted.

All submissions will be evaluated by the relevant Evaluation Committee and the selected speakers will be informed accordingly.
